Adventures With Morganna
About This Blog
Remember GW2 is not yet released!
Remember that GW2 is not yet released, an as such some of the content of this blog might change. Currently I am involved in the weekend Beta tests, but as nothing in Beta is set in stone so pictures of Morganna or posts about quests and events could change drastically. I will do my best to avoid posting about the actual events in GW2 Beta since they are up for alteration, but I will probably post a screen shot of Morganna now and then as I play through the Beta. Until the game actually releases I will be making no set assurances to blog activity, but I will try and post at least biweekly if possible. When the game comes out I will try and do more regular updates but we will have to see what is going on when the game finally releases. For now blog posts will mostly be over original content and stories set in the GW2 universe.
Morganna is a young female norn just on the cusp of adulthood though she has not yet earned the respect of her norn peers. Blessed from a young age by Raven, one of the Spirits of the Wild, Morganna has always been rather clever and sly. Morganna is skilled with a bow but also enjoys hand to hand combat and as a child she often bested her elder siblings in wrestling even though she was the youngest and had only brothers.
Morganna’s father was known as Kormün the Slayer of the Walking Trees, he died honorably fighting a great boar when Morganna was just an infant. She does not remember her father but has been told she has his temper. Her mother is a gargantuan woman named Gürd, bearer of four strong sons and Slayer of the Fanged Saber. Morganna’s eldest brother has made his way south and she rarely hears from him, the second eldest boy died fighting a dozen malfunctioning golems, the third boy was slain by his younger brother in a contest of strength, and the youngest has become a prominent member of the Sons of Svanir. Morganna also has twin siblings, a half-brother and half-sister, but has only met them a handful of times. Morganna would die defending her families honor but she isn't particularly close with any of them.
She set out on her own several years ago, a fairly common undertaking for her age, but still occasionally visits her mother, in the Great Lodge of Hoelbrak, between hunts. Morganna is headstrong and stubborn but she has the ability to approach sticky situations with some tact. Where some of her fellow norn would simply charge blindly into battle, Morganna has been known to stalk her prey and wait till she formulates a way to gain an upper hand. Some of her peers see her tactics as cowardly but Morganna has never backed down from a challenge; she is not one to run and fight another day.
Her name is slightly unusual for a norn, she is named after a human female who traveled north and impressed the norn with her gumption and skill. That Morganna was known as a talented spirit caller from the land of Cantha. Morganna was named after the woman when on the day of her birth, a large group of restless spirits laid siege to her birthplace, only retreating after Morganna was born and gave her first roar in Tyria. Morganna seeks adventure and great challenges as she seeks to build her legacy and insure her immortality in the songs of the norn.
This information is subject to change if it ends up contradicting information available after GW2 releases.
About the Author
I played Guild Wars for 5+ years and have been online text-based role playing for 3+ years. I enjoy writing in my spare time and would like to have some of my works published in the not too distant future. I am currently a junior in college at an undisclosed university in the Midwestern United States, studying History and Humanities whilst also taking some art and literature classes. I hope to graduate at some point but I feel old and school seems very tedious at times. I am involved in many on and off campus activities, belong to an also undisclosed Social Fraternity as well as an Academic History Fraternity. I mostly play single player console games but make an exception for GW and GW2 as they rock my socks off. In my free time I enjoy reading when not gaming or spending time with friends and family, in college I have played rugby and played soccer in high school, and have been involved in theatre both in high school and in college. I listen to just about every kind of music there is and wish I had the talent to animate GW2 themed videos to some of my favorite songs. While I feel I am a fairly decent gamer, I would fall more under the category of s casual player and I think my Guilds usually just enjoy my sense of sarcasm and near constant perversions. I attempted writing an in-character blog for a character in GW but got lazy and busy and never got the idea off the ground for long. My goal is to change that with this GW2 blog and have been taking matters regarding it very seriously. I hope you enjoy reading my entries and I will do my best to come out with quality updates often! I love GW and GW2 and hope that I can help spread the news about these great games (and books!) through the use of this blog. Also I do have a reading disorder, so whilst I try to catch any typos, grammatical errors, and/or spelling mistakes, please forgive me if I miss a few.
About this Blog
Hello and thank you for taking the time to stop by and read this blog. This blog is supposed to be the diary of a female norn from the world/game of Guild Wars 2. The character and events are obviously fictional and the blog is nothing more than a fan made diary and I claim none of the rights to any of the GW2 copy-written material. Some of these stories will be based around various quests I have completed with my GW2 character but many are fictional works created by myself (real quests will be indicated by tags at the end of the post). Also some of the characters mentioned in these entries are based off of the GW2 characters of some of my friends, anyone mentioned has given me their permission to do so. This blog is all meant for good fun and not designed to offend anyone, their will be a few adult themes but these will be handled with as much tact and subtlety as I can muster. If you feel concerned or question the credit of any of my posting please feel free to use the contact form to get a hold of me and I will address the issue.
